We are experiencing technical difficulties at the moment, we apologize for the inconvenience

Don't you just hate when that happens in the middle of an exciting programme on tv or in my case in the middle of some online negotiations?

The phoneline's down and with it the internet connection...

I'm currently writing from a university computer before my morning class starts...

It seems to me that every few months or so something happens to the phoneline and one of the members of the family has to spend hours on the phone trying to explain the problem to one of Telstra's oh so helpful service center employees...

From experience, the problem has so far always been their fault and they usually send some guy to tinker with a cable for less than five minutes that they end up charging you two hundred dollars for.

I mean, I pay the bills on time...I don't bother anyone...all I expect is for my phone to work and to have an internet connection when I need it...

ANYWAY, unless Telstra gets off their ass and fixes the problem today there will be no update until either tomorrow or Friday.

Update:

Well, after spending an hour on the phone yesterday being passed on from department to department from operator to operator and being put on hold, it seems the problem isn't the line...but that Telstra screwed up BIG time...Apparently at some point on Tuesday when the internet and phone stopped working (for outgoing calls at least) Telstra's Sale Department apparently was informed to change our service to local calls only, which is a major lie because no one in the family would do something so ridiculous...and they haven't...especially because the two account-holders are currently overseas. My mother barely knows how to use a computer so it wasn't her. My father relies on us being able to contact him via phone and email...

But this isn't the first time Telstra has goofed...without a doubt just another idiotic employee who didn't read the numbers right. Anyway, all I can do is continue to show up at university early every day to make sure I secure myself a computer and book a computer at the local library for Saturday...Until this problem is corrected...I cannot guarantee any updates...since I do use the internet...a lot.

Another Update:

Just got a message from my dad...Apparently the service has been cancelled because I haven't paid the bill that isn't due until the 14th of October, does it look like it's the 14th of October yet? NO! It's the friggin' NINTH!!!

Yet another Update:

It is now the 11th of October...I still cannot make any outgoing calls and have no internet connection. My father has been contacting Telstra/bigpond via phone and internet (From overseas) for the past two or three days...and if we're lucky, Telstra will have done something by Wednesday next week...My apologies to those who actually visit my blog...I know that this really really really sucks.

Not to worry we will wait with baited breath for more info. I hope it all works out soon. I love seeing teh picutres I loved in High school all revamped.
